Len is the Founder and Chairman of Lawmed, specialising in innovative surgical instruments and product solutions for minimally invasive surgery. Since founding the company in 2000, he has been instrumental in its growth and success, overseeing its evolution into a trusted partner for healthcare professionals. Under his leadership, Lawmed has achieved significant milestones, driven by the adoption of advanced technologies that enhance surgical safety and efficiency.
Prior to Lawmed, Len gained valuable experience at Rocialle, De Royal, and Autosuture, and began his career as a Detective Constable with the Metropolitan Police London, which shaped his focus on operational excellence and strategic thinking.
Len believes that innovative healthcare solutions come from understanding people’s needs and thinking creatively about challenges. He views his work not just as growing a business, but as making a tangible difference in healthcare, and he approaches leadership with a focus on empowering his team to innovate and improve patient outcomes.
Outside of work, he enjoys mentoring young professionals and supporting initiatives that advance surgical practice.
Ian, with over 30 years of experience, is a highly respected specialist in the medical device industry. His career includes roles as Divisional Sales Manager at BM Browne / Fannin UK, General Manager at Endoscopic Solutions, and earlier positions at B. Braun Medical and Olympus KeyMed, giving him a broad understanding of product management, sales, and healthcare innovation.
As a Main Board Director at Lawmed, Ian leads the Women’s Health division and oversees the introduction of the EndoSure non-invasive diagnostic test for endometriosis into the UK market. He is known for his strategic approach and expertise in product development, business growth, market strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Ian is committed to advancing patient care through innovative solutions and building strong partnerships with healthcare professionals.
With over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare sector, John is an accomplished business leader with a proven track record of driving strategic growth and operational excellence across complex commercial environments. His expertise spans business development, commercial strategy, operations, and stakeholder management, enabling him to translate strategic vision into measurable outcomes.
As Managing Director at Lawmed Ltd, John is responsible for ensuring compliance and governance across all areas of the business, upholding Lawmed’s commitment to the highest standards of quality, ethics, and regulatory integrity within the medical device sector.
Outside of work, John is a former rugby player and enthusiastic golfer. He now gives back to the community by coaching and helping to organise his children’s grassroots rugby and cricket teams.
With over 20 years’ experience in the medical device industry, Simon brings deep commercial expertise and a proven track record of driving growth, innovation, and strategic partnerships across the UK and international markets.
Simon began his career at Ethicon Endo-Surgery (Johnson & Johnson), where he earned multiple national and regional sales awards before progressing into a national role. He was subsequently invited into management, leading high-performing teams and delivering consistent business growth. Following a year-long sabbatical, Simon spent three years working in the financial markets in Stockholm, gaining valuable experience in risk management, commercial strategy, and financial operations.
Returning to healthcare, Simon founded a medical devices business supporting emerging challenger brands with UK market entry, sales growth, and strategic direction, where his partnership with Lawmed first began.
Now Managing Director at Lawmed, Simon leads sales strategy, supplier relationships, and market positioning, helping establish the company as a trusted innovation partner for the NHS and private sectors. His leadership is grounded in commercial excellence, collaboration, and customer-driven innovation.
Outside of work, Simon prioritises time with his young family, enjoys travel, and remains actively involved in his local community.
Derek has over 20 years’ experience in the data, services, and technology industry across global markets. He held a variety of positions at Thomson Reuters over a 15-year period including sales leadership, managing direct sales teams and global channel partners, and served as VP, International Operations for the Healthcare and Scientific Division for 8 years, overseeing P&L, based London and Denver. Prior to STM industry, 12 years medical device sector experience in various roles with Auto Sture (Medtronic).
Leading change and the ability to energize others, Derek is responsible for strategic planning in the Hernia Repair market, having established bi-annual Abdominal Wall Repair Clinical Leads Forum symposia in collaboration with leading UK and European surgeons with focus on AWR algorithms, the science and published work to support informed decision making with mesh implants. He also supports talent management for experienced sales professionals across the Midlands, North, and Scotland.
Derek believes that placing the customer at the very heart of what we do and that optimizing patient outcomes, really matters.
Outside of work, his focus is on family, travel and investing time mentoring young entrepreneurs in the North East.
Bringing over 20 years of international marketing leadership experience, Oz leads Lawmed’s marketing strategy, brand development, and communications, ensuring the company’s mission and values are clearly articulated across the business. She joined Lawmed in 2025 to contribute to the development and maintenance of the company’s long-term strategies.
Prior to joining Lawmed, Oz held senior marketing roles within healthcare, MedTech, and financial services organisations, including Nexpring Health, Planer – Hamilton Thorne Group, Aviva, and AIG. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in business planning, driven growth through national and international expansion projects, led high-profile campaigns, and delivered strategies that strengthen brand presence and connect organisations with their audiences.
Oz defines her role as a strategic partner to the business, translating insight into clear direction, enabling teams, and ensuring Lawmed’s brand reflects the quality, expertise, and people behind it. She believes strong marketing is built on collaboration, clarity, and purpose, and plays a key role in supporting Lawmed’s continued growth through a people-first approach.
Richard began his career in medicine in 2009, working in operating theatres at Colchester General Hospital. In 2013, he transitioned from the NHS to the medical device industry, gaining experience with both large global organisations and smaller UK-based businesses, consistently working across surgical specialties.
Richard has joined Lawmed in July 2024, he has developed a strong passion for people leadership, taking pride in enabling his teams and customers to achieve their long-term visions for the benefit of patients. With a focus on sustainable and productive growth, he enjoys exploring holistic solutions that deliver lasting impact.
Outside of work, Richard leads an active lifestyle, volunteering as a girls’ rugby coach and competing in clay pigeon shooting.
With over 25 years of international HR experience across engineering, retail, manufacturing, brokerage, and financial services, Sian leads Lawmed’s people strategy with a strong focus on employee engagement, culture, reward, resourcing, development, and HR policy. She joined Lawmed in 2025, bringing deep expertise in supporting growth, change, and organisational effectiveness.
Her career includes extensive experience supporting international retail growth, partnering with business leaders on new product launches and organisational restructuring, and leading complex TUPE and employee relations activity. These roles formed the foundation for her subsequent career in independent HR consultancy.
Sian sees her role as a true business enabler, empowering individuals, championing careers, and partnering closely with teams to deliver solutions that support development, streamline HR processes, and bring Lawmed’s vision and values to life. She believes culture is shaped by everyday actions: how people treat one another, share responsibility, take ownership, and collaborate. As a risk-aware practitioner, Sian believes HR is not about rules, but about achieving fair, consistent, and balanced outcomes across the organisation.
Outside of work, Sian enjoys spending time with family and friends, dog walking, and travel.
